Foot-Washers for Muslim Students

(Minneapolis, Minnesota) What the hell is wrong with Minnesota? It seems you can't take a deep breath without hearing about some new effort to bend over for Islam. And, last I heard, the melodramas in which Muslim taxi drivers and retail cashiers demand to dictate business practices still haven't been resolved.

In the latest bizarre move, Minneapolis Community and Technical College President Phil Davis (don't forget this guy's name) has decided to install foot-washing facilities, at taxpayer expense, for Muslim students so their feet will be clean during the regular prayer sessions.

Now, I wouldn't particularly care about President Phil's action if it were not for the fact that he has been a crusader to make sure that all acknowledgment and recognition of Christianity and Judaism are eradicated from the campus of Minneapolis Community and Technical College. So, you tell me, isn't this a case of one religion being promoted while others are suppressed? Interestingly, local Muslim leaders stated that foot-washing is not mandatory under the circumstances but President Phil doesn't care whether it's required or not. He's going to do it for "interested students."

"It's like when someone comes to your home, you want to be hospitable."
Naturally, one would expect that President Phil's home bathroom has been remodeled with foot-washing facilities for interested guests. Frankly, I don't think so. But, wait, he spews more manure.
"The foot-washing facilities are not about religion, they are about customer service and public safety," he says. He sees no significant difference between using public funds to construct prayer-related facilities for Muslim students and the cafeteria's provision of a fish option for Christian students during Lent.
Three things are apparent to me. One is that President Phil Davis has adopted a bend-over for Islam management philosophy. Two is that President Phil is a politically correct leftist ideologue of the highest order who should be flushed from any position in academia. And, lastly, rational adult Americans in Minnesota are going to have to do the flushing.

One last note, even the school's director of legal affairs, Dianna Cusick, says that promoting one religion over another is unconstitutional. President Phil Davis, however, isn't listening.

3 Think the fair citizens of Minneapolis ought to rush to their local grocery store and buy ham sandwiches, go to the airport and pass them out to all the arriving guest to thier fair city.  For the kiddies they should substitue piggy banks.

4 Separation of church mosque and state.
This is ripe for ACLU lawsuit. (no I am no fan of ACLU), but they would do the job just fine here.

5 Please take time to write to Mr. Davis about this violation of separation of mosque and state. Be civil as usual, but don't forget to mention that you are writing about this to ACLU.
