Et tu, Blogfather?

Ouch. Charles Johnson speaks:

The Bush administration is perilously close to jumping the tracks. I’ve supported the President through the long course of the war that began on September 11, but it’s starting to look like he’s simply getting tired; he won’t defend his administration against attacks, he won’t defend the country against illegal immigration, he won’t do anything to stop the media leaks that cripple our national security ... and now this: U.S., Iran end 27-year diplomatic freeze.

2 Yeah,
Talking to the Mullahcracy on equal terms is an insult to both the American and Iraqi peoples as well as allied nations and individuals.
But is it possible that the administration has done this to pacify the mo-slime appeasers in the U.S. and the collaborationists in Europe?

3 I think this is just part of the preparation for an attack on the Mullahs. I believe the Administration is just doing this to convince even the liberals that in fact all avenues of diplomacy have been exhausted and that the U.S. has no choice but to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran directly.

4 "Ah negotiations always goes so well with the followers of Mohammed."
We ask what they want us to do to stop the war they say "It"s simple Infidel!"
Submit to Allah
become Islams slaves and pay the tax
or
Die
"There that wasn't so bad was it?"

5 The second term seems to be when presidents fulfill the most heinous promises to close friends/supporters; we need to stop expecting Bush to give a rats ass about anything we think, say or do, because he's now in the dreamquest phase of his presidency, and start focusing on who can be brought in to replace him next year.

The only thing at this point that would even conceivably bring Bush back into line is the threat of impeachment from the dems, but I think the dems have figured out by now they can do more harm to the repubs by simply allowing our guy to remain in power.

Bush needs to be referred to henceforth as a nonentity; the conversations on the right should be taking Bush's uselessness as a given and proceeding on to the subject of who could best roll back the damage he's done with his mistakes and preserve the remaining good resulting from his (earlier and more lucid) achievements.

We need to hit the ground running in '08 if we're going to salvage anything.
