FBI Seize Goose Creek Suspect's Computer

Okay, so is this now a full blown terror investigation? SP Times:

Investigators have removed computers from the family home of a University of South Florida student accused of having pipe bombs in his car, according to Ahmed Bedier, executive director of the Tampa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

He said the FBI contacted the parents of Yousseff Samir Megahed of 4959 Anniston Circle, Tampa, who were on vacation, and got permission to search their home. When they returned, their computers were gone.

Plot thickens. The story also suggests that one of his roommates, from Mauritania, has now left the country. I wonder if that should read fled the country?

I'm guessing the FBI is looking for jihad related material on his computer. Hat tip: Liz.

UPDATE: Dan Riehl has a related news video posted.

Al Qaeda Cell in America?

Threats made by Adam Gadahn in his new al Qaeda video are getting some people nervous. I wouldn't be as worried about the American traitor's threats as I would be about new information which suggests that the failed Glasgow/London suicide bombers had contacts in the U.S.

Okay, worried may be too strong a word. Amused? Yeah, that's the word. Because if the al Qaeda cell in the U.S. received the same training as the moronic doctors who tried to pull off jihad in Britain, then we really don't have much to fear. Remember, these are the guys who couldn't pull off a suicide car bombing right. And they're doctors. Doctors, I am told by TV, are supposed to be really smart.

NY Sun:

E-mail addresses for American individuals were found on the same password-protected e-mail chains used by the United Kingdom plotters to communicate with Qaeda handlers in Europe, a counterterrorism official told The New York Sun yesterday. The American and German intelligence community now believe the secure e-mail chains used in the United Kingdom plot have provided a window into an operational Qaeda network in several countries.

"Because of the London and Glasgow plot, we now know communications have been made from Al Qaeda to operatives in the United States," the counterterrorism official said on condition of anonymity. "This plot helps to connect a lot of stuff. We have seen money moving a lot through hawala networks and other illicit finance as well." But this source was careful to say that at this point no specific information, such as names, targets or a timeline, was known about any particular plot on American soil. The e-mail addresses that are linked to Americans were pseudonyms.

Goose Creek Bomb Suspects Identified

goosbombersvert.jpgVia WISTV:

GOOSE CREEK (WIS) - Authorities demolished a suspicious item found in a car that led police to close a highway outside Charleston Saturday night.

WIS News 10 spoke with officials at the Berkeley County Detention Center who said 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed and 21-year-old Yousef Megahed, the occupants of the car, are still in police custody.

So far they have only been charged with possession of explosive devices, but the FBI is working to see if more crimes have been committed.

The article goes on to say...
Officials say the men did not show up on any terror suspect list, and authorities don't think they posed a threat.
Hmmmm, it seems the al-Qaeda numbnuts who tried to bomb Glasgow Airport were not on any lists either. I'll say it again, it helps if the guys in your secret cell are, you know, secret.

Hat Tip: The Macmillans.

But wait, there's more. One bomb was ready to detonate and another was under construction.

Via ABC NEWS4: Goose Creek - Two men are being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center after police find explosive making devices in their car. The men had atleast one ready to go bomb and bomb making materials that include chemicals.
Hat Tip Larwyn.

Move along. These are not the middle eastern men with bombs and names similar to Megadeath we're looking for.

Breaking: Car with Explosives in SC, 2 Middle Easterners Detained

CNN and local news are reporting that a car possibly carrying explosives has been stopped by police outside Charleston, South Carolina. Two men were in the van, both described as Middle Eastern.

The car was stopped in the community of Goose Creek, north of Charleston. The bomb squad and the FBI are on the scene. Highway 176, where the car was found, is said to still be closed.

Developing.....

Hat tip: Larwyn.

UPDATE: I know that CNN is retracting the "Middle Eastern" angle, but local media is still running with it. But get this, reliapundit dropped this in the comments:

Goose Creek is home to the Naval Weapons Station and the U.S. Naval Consolidated Brig, a military prison where enemy combatants have been held."
That's interesting. It may be nothing more than cops with a heightened sense of security.

19 Arrested at Muslim Bakery: Oaklandistan Rising?

Is this the start of a new phenomenon in America: Oaklandistan?

From USA Today:

Police arrested more than a dozen people and seized a "small armory of weapons" during a raids this morning at the Your Black Muslim Bakery and other locations in Oakland, local media report.
I found the link over at LGF, but buried near the end is this important piece of information:

More recently, [founder of the bakery Yusuf] Bey's son and some other young men were identified as the young toughs who bashed liquor bottles in Oakland corner stores and berated the owners for selling alcohol in the community.

Also, longtime Oakland journalist Chauncey Bailey was reportedly researching an investigative piece into Your Black Muslim Bakery before he was shot and killed Thursday morning.

Sounds to me as if Bey and his friends were trying to enforce Sharia law. The kind of thing that is common in Muslim ghettos all over Europe.

What was it that Chauncey Bailey was researching? Yet another gang in Oakland or a gang of thugs enforcing sharia?

It should be noted that by "black Muslim" that we are probably talking about members of the Nation of Islam--Louis Farrakhan's group.

Raw Story:

An increased threat of another al Qaeda attack between now and Sep. 11 of this year has caused Capitol Police officials to step up security on Capitol Hill, Roll Call reported....

“Given the world situation and recently released snippet from al-Qaida threatening to attack Washington, we’re just being a tad more vigilant if that’s possible,” Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Terrance Gainer told the Capitol Hill newspaper. “Although, if you’re ready for a four-alarm fire at any time, it’s hard to be more vigilant.”

Al Qaeda Threatens Big Surprise

Update by Rusty
: I've added the image announcing the "big surprise" above.
------------

Yawn.

A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined "Wait for the Big Surprise" and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.

The brief clip from al Qaeda's "as Sahab" propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda's top leadership -- Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn -- as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.

There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, "Soon -- God willing," written across the screen and repeated several times.

And the big surprise is?

Some Islamotard learned how to use Photoshop.

Sorry, I can't take these "ads" seriously anymore. Actions speak louder than words, and Al Qaeda (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 combined) hasn't been all that successful in the action department lately.

All I see here is a desperate cry for attention, an attempt to distract from the fact that they're getting their asses handed to them in Iraq.

Oh, we'll have an attack at some point, it's inevitable, but not all terrorists are Al Qaeda (either 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0). With that fact in mind, I'll respond to this "ad" with the ol' reliable...

UPDATE by Rusty
: AllahP wonders if one of the guys in the animated .gif above might be Adnan al-Shukrijumah who was allegedly charged by al Qaeda with the mission of getting in to the United States and setting off a dirty bomb.

The two look similar, but it's hard to tell. My gut instinct says no.

Geoff over at JYB offers some good insight into AQ's track record on carrying out their threats.

'Not-a-Terrorist' Muslim Woman Arrested, Had Bomb

Kimberly "Asma" Al-Homsi arrested....again. This time on charges related to the "domestic disturbance" call that brought the police to her and Aisha Abdul-Rahman Hamad's house two weeks ago. They found bomb making materials at the time, but it looks like they've decided to press charges.

Q: How come it's al-Homsi that's always getting arrested and not Hamad? Is Kimberly the butch and therefore assumed to be the responsible man of the house.

Fox 4 Dallas:

During a search on July 16, detectives found dangerous explosives and a homemade bomb.

An arrest affidavit describes it as two plastic pipes capped off on one end, and shotgun shells placed into the opposite end. The affidavit goes on to say the pipes were X-rayed, which showed them to be filled with very small round balls which investigators described as buckshot, used in shotgun shells.

For a really effective pipe bomb, though, you need something more than a shotgun shell, and caps on both sides. I wanted to say it was a zip gun gone awry, but the same article says that she also had one of those.

How do I know this stuff? No one is going to accuse me of not getting anything out of Boy Scouts!

Al-Homsi had previously been detained on what looked like a casing of Dallas Love Field for potential terrorism. But charges were later dropped. She was also once arrested for threatening people with a fake hand grenade.

Anyway, it looks like she's just psycho to me. But, as I've said on a number of occasions: crazy + extremist ideology = dangerous.

And how does one know if a crazy Muslim woman also might have an extremist ideology?

Fire officials say while they are confident of what al-Homsi was making, they have yet to learn of her motives. But they soon may learn, as the FBI has seized her computer and is analyzing it to see if it will provide any answers.
The internet: more than just porn and stock quotes!

Hat tip: Jaret, who oddly seems to follow all things lesbian-Muslim.....

Love Field Terror Suspect Arrested ... Again

Aisha Abdul-Rahman HamadKimberlyalHamsi.jpgKimberly "Asma" Al-Homsi is in the news again, this time arrested after a "domestic disturbance" call was made and a six hour a standoff with the police. But alls well that ends well: the cops used the taser on her.

You'll recall that she has previously been questioned by the FBI after she and Aisha Abdul-Rahman Hamad were spotted near Southwest Airline's main hub at Dallas Love Field in what appeared to be a "dry run" to some. She had also been arrested previously for making threats with a fake handgrenade. After the two incidents she claimed the authorities were harassing her because she was dressed in traditional Muslim garb.

I'm sure the police are just out to get another Muslim. I mean, isn't that what they do?

Oh, did I mention the police found four explosive devices in her home?

The two also go to the same mosque that is associated with the Holy Land
Foundation, which was a money laundering scam for terrorists.

WFAA:

Before the day ended, Arlington police had negotiated a six-hour standoff, their robot had been shot at with a paintball gun, and they had called in a bomb squad over four potentially explosive devices.

Kimberly Al-Homsi called 911 about 12:40 a.m. Monday. She said her friend, Aisha Hamad, had threatened her with a knife....

Police say that Monday morning, when an officer came to the door, Ms. Hamad threatened to shoot him. She told him the only way she would leave was in a body bag.

So began the standoff, during which she fired a paintball gun at a tactical robot and missed, police say, and at the end of which a negotiator persuaded her to come out peacefully. Once outside, Ms. Hamad, 50, fought with them while they tried to handcuff her, police say, so they used a Taser on her....

Meanwhile, police searched the home on Wembley Road and found four explosive devices, one of which was sitting on a bedroom table....

"We do not know whether they would function as [explosive] devices until we have time to study them and look at them and test the materials," Mr. Lea said. "I can tell you this; there wasn't anything in there that would have blown her house to pieces."

That's cryptic. What could be characterized as an explosive but not be all that dangerous?

Anyway, Schlussel thinks they're lesbians--the bad kind. I have no idea where that idea comes from other than you have two butch chicks living together and threatening each other. Maybe the police found explosive vibrators?

If its just a guess of Debbie's, then why not just assume that the two are the polygamous wives of the same husband. Don't laugh, I've seen it before. Okay, feel free to laugh.....

Anyway, parting thought: crazy and terrorist wannabes are not mutually exclusive choices.

Hat Tip: JarvisW

UPDATE: Debbie clarifies to me in an e-mail that she interprets the report that the two are "domestic partners" as lesbians. So, maybe the exploding vibrator hypothesis I had isn't so far off the mark? more...

An American al Qaeda Devotee in New York

www.al-buruj.com.JPGI saw this video of Yousef al-Khattab praising the murder of Daniel Pearl over at LGF and was just sickened. Since most of my readers also visit LGF regularly, I figured I wouldn't say anything. But when I saw Allahpundit's post today, something seemed oddly familiar about his face.

That's because "Yousef al-Khattab", aka Takfiri, is one Joseph Cohen, who I first ran into via the cyber jihadis over at The Ignored Puzzle, the Wordpress hosted English language al Qaeda support website, where his blogspot hosted website is on inshallahshaheed's blogroll.

Which is very interesting, given that inshallahshaheed is a friend of convicted terror suppoerter Daniel Aljughaifi (given name Daniel Maldonado), who's Wordpress hosted blog remains despite numerous complaints. It's also very interesting to note that Yousef al-Khattab admits to knowing "Abu Muhammed" (Aljughafi's nickname) in this article:

Despite the guilty plea, some friends maintain Maldonado is a victim of religious persecution.

Yousef al-Khattab, a New York City bicycle-taxi driver, said in a telephone interview he believes the government trumped up the charges against Maldonado.

Al-Khattab said he never met Maldonado but has known him for four or five years through the Internet and considers him a friend.

And since I discovered Yousef al-Khattab through mutual "friends" of Omar Bakri Mohammed, my immediate suspicions were that he was a follower of the movement now calling itself Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah in Britain, and which maintains a website called "Islam Base".

And I'll remind you once again that in "base" in Arabic is qaeda, and the website once featured books by Ayman al Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden, before we exposed them.

Which makes a lot of sense, since al-Khattab has several books online which he downloaded from Bakri Mohammed's followers at Islam Base, including a book written by convicted terrorist financier Abu Hamza, Allah's Government on the Earth, on his website. He also has a direct link to Islam Base on his website which takes you to a lecture by Sheikh Anwar Al Awlaki on The Constants of Jihad. And Islam Base reciprocates by linking Khattab's Judaism to Islam video.

Now, Khattab claims to be in Morocco, but his website has a New York contact phone number and the article above interviewed him last month also describes him as working in the city. And since we know he is connected to the followers of Omar Bakri Mohammed, then the logical inference is that he is a member of his New York City affiliate, The Islamic Thinkers Society (their website, here).

Which brings us back to the original point: something familiar about that face.....Oh, yeah...

Allahu akbar, here's the video. Then again, the bearded look is popular among that group....

But the other evidence seems pretty solid. His connection to Omar Bakri Mohammed's followers, plus being in New York almost certainly means he is affiliated with The Islamic Thinkers Society.

How bad is this guy? Remember, he's a Jew, and he wrote this at an Islamist message board:

Dear brothers and sisters, it is as clear as day and night that the Jews are the enemy of mankind and even the environment. I have read this thread, and the Jew has been provided with more than ample proofs and evidences, but why waste time? It is crystal clear that the Jews (may Allah swt destroy them) run the media, banking,USA foreign policy, and the porn industry etc. etc.

Brothers and sisters rather than being kept 'busy' refuting this bacteria we should focus on ridding Judaism from this earth. To quote a brother that the USA government issued a postage stamp in his memory, "by any means necessary".
The Jew on this forum mentioned the Nazis in one of 'it's' posts, I felt it only fair to post Joseph Gobbele's essay that has ALOT of truth in it though not all truth. The essay is called The Jew and it was written in 1929 interesting how true it is to this day and time! ...

[He then quotes extensively from the Nazi's chief propagandist, Joseph Goebbels] ...

Brothers and sisters, I am not a Neo Nazi in fact I am a former Jew,but I urge you to rush forth in Allah's service in any and all ways legal to eliminate the teachings of Judaism aka The Jewish People.

Bad enough that he'd call for genocide against his own people.

Parting thought from Yousef al-Khattab, in a message he wrote at an Islamic message board:

My concern is a Sharia State inshaallah BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Emphasis is not mine.

UPDATE: His Youtube account has been suspended ululululululululu!

Al Qaeda Cell in U.S.

I got news for you folks: there are already al Qaeda cells here. Call it a gut feeling. So, to claim that an al Qaeda cell is on its way, really misses the boat. The good news is that it looks like al Qaeda's operatives are mostly incompetent.

Mostly.

The Blotter:

Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.
Let's just hope that the numbnuts, idiots, and crazies that make up most of al Qaeda 3.0 don't find a four leaf clover soon.

And, speaking of the immigration link, it would be good to remember that al Qaeda operative Adnan G. El Shukrijumah (pictured above) is said to speak fluent Spanish and passes as a Hispanic. He's the guy that was supposedly sent by al Qaeda to the U.S. to set off a dirty bomb. Oh, and there have been reports that he's been seen south-of-the-border....and even the occasional sighting in the U.S.

The CAIR - al Qaeda Connection?

Most around here know of the ties between CAIR and Hamas. You'll recall that CAIR has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the case against the leaders of the Hamas money laundering scheme at the Holy Land Foundation.

But what about a CAIR connection to al Qaeda? At the very least, this article from Front Page suggests that the early leaders of CAIR travelled in the same circles as al Qaeda supporters. I don't know if that makes them guilty of anything more than bad taste in friends. Maybe it's a case of the bad hanging out with the worse--and related to them through marriage. I just don't know.

In any event, the connections outlined in the article are disturbing. You'll just have to read the whole thing.

Some Good News About CAIR

Via The Fred Thompson Report:

[CAIR] often seems to be more aligned with our enemies than us -- which isn't surprising as it spun off from a group funded by Hamas. As you know, Hamas has been waging a terrorist war against Israel and calls for its total destruction. It also promises to see America destroyed. Nowadays, Hamas is busy murdering its Palestinian political rivals.

Even with this history, and CAIR's conspicuous failure to condemn Hamas by name, it has been treated as if represents Muslim Americans by our own government. The good news is that the financial support CAIR claims to have among American Muslims is a myth. We know this because The Washington Times got hold of the group's IRS tax records.

CAIR's dues-paying membership has shrunk 90 percent since 9/11 -- from 29,000 in 2000 to only 1,700 last year. CAIR's annual income from dues plunged from $733,000 to $59,000. Clearly, America's Muslims are not supporting this group -- and I'm happy to hear about it.

Of course, every silver lining seems to have a cloud; and this cloud is that CAIR's spending is running about $3 million a year. They’ve opened 25 new chapters in major cities across the country even as their dues shrank to a pittance. The question is; who’s funding CAIR?

Heh-heh... Fred kicks ass. Go FredHeads!

In other news, George W. Bush is working on reaching out to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Teens Attack Innocent Motorists for "Juneteenth"

Swarms of vicious thuggish teens celebrating Juneteenth (a celebration of Emancipation), decided to jump on the cars of passers-by and terrorize them, even kicking their windows in some cases.

When the cops come in, watch these little insects scatter like the worthless cockroaches that they are. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton could not be reached for comment.

From the Wiki entry, which mentions this incident:
In recent years the holiday has attracted controversy due to outbreaks of violence. During Juneteenth festivities in 2007 crowds attacked cars in downtown Milwaukee. One driver was pulled from his vehicle and severely beaten before police arrived. A woman was also arrested during the festivities for assaulting a police officer. Also in 2007, in Austin, Texas, a crowd beat a man to death after he attempted to defend the driver of a car which had just hit a child.

al-Qaeda's NY Wish List

alqaedasnytargets.jpgThe NY stock exchange, kids puppet shows, chemical gas and dirty bomb attacks were all considered. Fortunatly the Brits have Dhiren Barot and his seven partners in crime in the cross bar hotel. Not so good, al-Qaeda most likely still has all this research.

Via MSNBC: NEW YORK - London's Scotland Yard on Friday released a series of videos, maps and attack plans for a plot to assault New York's financial district, prepared by al-Qaida operatives six months before the Sept. 11 attack.

While some parts of the videos and some of the attack information — prepared for Osama bin Laden himself — were previously made public, today's release is the most detailed regarding the attack plans.

The materials were released today after seven members of a terror cell run by al-Qaida "general'' Dhiren Barot were sentenced in London to a total of 136 years in prison. Mohammed Naveed Bhatti, Junade Feroze, Zia Ul Haq, Abdul Aziz Jalil, Omar Abdur Rehman, Qaisar Shaffi and Nadeem Tarmohamed were vital to his deadly plans to attack targets in the United Kingdom and United States, Woolwich Crown Court was told.

Terror Threat Against Ohio Nuke Power Plant?

nuclear_simpsons.jpgThe Davis-Besse Nuclear power plant is near Oak Harbor, Ohio, on the shores of Lake Erie. Sandusky Register:

An alleged threat against the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station surfaced Sunday night, Ottawa County Sheriff Bob Bratton said.

The potential threat was viewed as serious enough for the to call in the FBI Monday night.

Someone called the Port Clinton Police Department reporting two Arabic men wrote a note on a napkin while at McCarthy's Restaurant and Pub in downtown Port Clinton, Bratton said.

Port Clinton police Detective Bob Case said a note was written on a napkin with the word 'boom' and a depiction of a power plant, not necessarily Davis-Besse.

When will CAIR chime in on this one and complain about 'racial profiling'? Here's a hint about context: when Matt Groening draws a nuclear power plant going 'boom', it's funny.

JFK Terror Plot Suspect Implicates Trinidadian Radicals

Court documents show that one of the accused JFK plotters caught in Trinidad has implicated a Trinidadian black Sunni Muslim organization in the plot:

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) - A Trinidadian suspect in an alleged plot to ignite a fuel pipeline feeding New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport once belonged to a radical Islamist group here, a spokesman for the group said.
Kala Aki Bua said Wednesday that 56-year-old Kareem Ibrahim cut his ties to Jamaat al Muslimeen in the late 1970s. He repeated the group's denial of any connection to the suspects who allegedly traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to seek the group's blessing and support
One of the other men arrested, Abdel Nur, reportedly cited a much more recent meeting:
But according to the documents, Nur said he met in May with the group's leader, Yasin Abu Bakr, at his compound and the Islamic leader suggested that he return later with others involved "to discuss the plan in detail."

Screw questioning it. They are actively representing the people who killed us on 9-11-01. They're not dissenting. They're on the other side.

Jihad Training in Southern Virginia?

I imagine a lot of people got this report e-mailed to them from Dr. Paul Williams. I usually don't do this kind of thing--reprinted a report e-mailed to me--but Paul is begging people to reprint it.

The report recounts how he and a few others, including Egyptian journalist Jamal Babour, visited the compound of Jamaat Al Fuqra which is located on Mahareen Roadin in what seems to be one of the more rural areas of Prince George's County.

I'm going to go ahead and distance myself from a couple of the claims--such as the notion that Hezbollah leaders one time got together with al Qaeda leaders for a secret meeting. But, other than a few claims like that--which don't seem to have much to do with the point of the story--the encounter Paul and his colleagues have at the Jamaat Al Fuqra compound are downright scary. It's worth the read, just for that.

What's especially scary is that you have a group of radical Muslims, arming themselves to the teeth, and fortifying the compound in such a way as to suggest they believe that an assault on them is imminent. Is it just me, or does any one else get that Waco vibe here? Just replace David Koresh with Sheikh Gilani, and Jesus with Muhammed and I think you'll see my point. more...
