Terrorists at University of Maryland?

Earlier today Jeff Quinton sent me this photo of a flyer posted at The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, asking me what to make of it. It claims to be from The Popular Democratic Party for the Liberation of Jerusalem and was posted on campus a few weeks ago. Both the date and the message on the flyer seems to indicate that it was posted because of the upcoming Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel's Independence Day, which is celebrated on May 3rd.

What's so very odd about the flyer is the name of the organization which claims to have posted it. I've never heard of The Popular Democratic Party for the Liberation of Jerusalem and neither has Google. But I've passed around the photos to several people who have experience tracking Palestinian groups and a general consensus has emerged. One of three possibilities:

a) Front for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a specially designated terrorist organization.

b) Front for the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), once designated "terrorists" but have since been removed from the list by the State Department. The group is composed of Marxist-Leninist-Maoists.

c) Wannabes with sympathies to one of the two above groups.

So, assuming that each of the three above scenarios is equally likely given the large numbers of 1) terror sympathizers on campus; 2) Marxists on campus; 3) aging liberal hippie douche wannabes on campus; then there is a 1/3 chance that a front group for terrorists is operating on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County! Just great.....

Jeff also wonders whether the flyer below is somehow connected to other flyers found on campus which put the school into alert mode because they were "hateful and threatening". Click it for larger version.

Okay, to be honest, it's probably far more likely that some leftist wannabe douche posted the flyer. But still, dontcha just love how they turn the Palestinian imperitive to drive the Jew into the sea on it's head?

UPDATE: Here is Jeff's post about the flyers. He clarifies one thing in it: as far as he knows there is no connection to the threatening flyers.

UPDATE II: Dan Riehl reminds us that "liberating Jersusalem" is not a new idea.

1 I agree; it does sound like another unholy commie/Islamo-fascist alliance.

2 Nice title they have "liberation of Jerusalem". Catchy. Nice to know our Universities have these "supporters" of terrorism.

3 People forget that Israel and surrounding areas were usurped by Islam by brute force to begin with.
Indeed, the formation of Israel is the liberation of the area.

I don't think people, outside of the selectivist, hypocrite, terrorist-appeaser, conspiracist, Jew-hater crowd, paritcularly cared. I mean it's not, relatively speaking, that big of a deal, in terms of being clear-cut oppression, murder, cruelty or whatever; just, it seems to me, Muslims using it as a way of justifying their (at least) 14th century behaviour. A focus for their cultural hatred and a means of legitimising it.

There's never been a place called Palestine (and there probably never will; they don't seem to want it enough to get their asses in gear), it's always been under some foreign power's rule; from the Jews originally (well imagine that! - and there was me thinking they all came from ovens in Europe, and'd never set foot in the Middle East historically, or so the pro-Palestinian cadre lead me to beleive) to the Romans, to the Muslims to the British. This current 'occupation' probably, almost definitely, being the least brutal of all of them.

The real issue is that they're Muslims. Muslims are taught that the Qu'ran should be their only reference, and in it, Jews are portrayed as animals worthy of disdain and ultimately, a violent death. It doesn't take Albert Einstein to do the simple mathematics involved.

Free Jerusalem? Fuck that noise. They'll only fuck it up (probably blow it up or something) like they did with everything else that ever fell into Islamic hands.

7 But what about the "Judean People's Front" or the "People's Front of Judea" or  "Judean Popular People's Front" or "Popular Front" or "People's Front" or "Campaign for Free Galilee"

OR maybe, just maybe ......"Judean People's Front, Crack suicide squad"

8 Yom HaAtzmaut was Monday.  It is probably tied to Yom Yerushalayim, when Israel liberated Jerusalem, but  is May 16, 2007.
