Tennessee State House Panel Votes to Expand Self-Defense Rights

NASHVILLE — In a surprise move, a House panel voted today to repeal a state law that forbids the carrying of handguns on property and buildings owned by state, county and city governments — including parks and playgrounds.

"I think the recent Virginia disaster — or catastrophe or nightmare or whatever you want to call it — has woken up a lot of people to the need for having guns available to law-abiding citizens," said Rep. Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains. "I hope that is what this vote reflects."

1 Excellent.  This is exactly the right reaction to the massacre.  Let's hope this catches on.   Had Virginia Tech not been a "gun free zone" (LOL.  Laughable) but a concealed weapon zone, that lunatic would have been put down like the dog he was before he could reload a clip.

2 Jesusland Carlos echos my feelings.  Ragnar has made my day by sharing this awesome news!  It's to bad it isn't in time to help all the killed and injured from this latest tragedy, but now it will be a bit less likely the next time, and that is progress.
                                         USA, all the way!

3 Now the people of Tennessee will be able to defend themselves against the Ford family. The Britts will still be sucking the camels balls to please the Muslim masters before they ever get a gun again, fucking pussies.

4 But does the law allow  us to use them?

I have a concealed permit, and I carry EVERYWHERE (except onto an airplane), regardless if its a government or state facility. Where are you most likely to be shot these days? A government or state facility. No one and no law will prevent me from defending myself and others if need be. As we have seen at Columbine, VT, and so many other places, the cops cannot save your life.

6 God bless the Volunteer State!

But I'm waiting for Aligore to start screeching about how the gases from a firearm are contributing to global warming.  /sarcasm

7 I keep forgetting to leave my pocket pistol in the car when I go in the bank. Rather be caught with it than without it. Been there, done that.
