Commencement addresses at the nation's top colleges and universities this year mostly were given by left-leaning or Democratic speakers with few conservatives snagging the honor, according to a report released yesterday by the Young America's Foundation.
The conservative group conducts the review each year using the U.S. News & World Report ranking of top schools. This year, it found left-leaning speakers outnumbered conservatives by a ratio of 8-to-1.

Which answers the age-old question: Why can't Johnny think?

2 Happy to say I was never infected by liberal bullshit when I was at college. And I went to College of Charleston, which is chock full of liberal professors, dikes, and hippies. I just wanted to bash them over the head and knock some common sense into them.

3 Been this way for forty years. That is why I continue to say that academia needs an enema. BAD. Subject matter is not the # 1 priority anymore. Teaching the beliefs of the teacher is. Tenure should be thrown out the window. Lefturds invaded academia the same as child molesters invaded the Catholic Church. The Church is doing something about it. So should our educational institutions. But how? The decision makers in academia are lefturds. Where the hell is Pol Pot when you need him?

Seeing the very negative vocal response to Andrew Card (former White House chief of staff), even appearing at commencement would seem to be pretty risky for any Republican.

9 I don't recall ever being asked who'd I would like to have appear as a campus speaker at graduation. The decisions aren't up to the student bodies but the same idiots who hire professors.

No wonder everyone ignores graduation ceremonies.

10 Amen to that. I have one more kid to graduate. Not looking forward to sitting and having to listen to some lefturd telling me what a horrible place America is. Thinking about it again. I think this time I'll boo and create a scene. Why not? The liberals do.
