Dem Leadership Attacking Military

Increasingly subservient to the Democrat lunatic fringe, Harry Reid has begun to include serving members of the armed forces in his verbal assaults, and, apparently, the MSM are helping him cover it up:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Marine Gen. Peter Pace, the outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "incompetent" during an interview Tuesday with a group of liberal bloggers, a comment that was never reported.

Reid made similar disparaging remarks about Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said several sources familiar with the interview.

And Defense Secretary Robert Gates did not recommend Marine general Peter Pace for a second term as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff because of Democratic threats to smear the general.

3 Gates/Bush/Cheney fired Gen Pace, not the Democrats. They also fired the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs at the same time. The firing of both the Chief and the Vice Chief has never occured at the same time EVER They know that the new nominee will face the exact same questions about Iraq, those hearings will be equally as "contentious"

4 John Ryan, you stupid sack of Persian jihadist shit, Gates did not resubmit Pace's name because Harry Reid planned to assassinate pace's character during the hearings. Better pay for some more English lessons.

5 when are the democratic party judge appointees who made that decision about 2 days ago giong to be impeached?

in addition, i wanted to note about those idiots of the r.o.p. who did another honor killing, that i read yesterday in the New York Post how a real Father in Queens New York took the bullet from a robber and thus saved his 2 teenage daughters who were threatened by the robber.  [please pray for him because the last i heard this honorable man is in critical condition in the hospital -his name is Bolivar Cruz].  but the rop isn't brave - grown men attacking teen age girls to preform honor killings and they are responsible for the murder of children at Belsan Russia.  why? because the jihadi have no bravery as the Israeli Defense Forces continually demonstrate they do have bravery.

6 What, ignoring the expertise of seasoned military advisors? Smearing their good names for the sake of politics? Hoy, these Democrats are getting as bad as the Republicans (see Gen. Shinseki, Eric)

7 No one is qualified to make that statement in the Senate about a currently serving officer in the Military. The Senate leadership have no honor.

8 First, Reid is without excuse for his: "The war is lost" comment; his critique of Pace/Petraus as incompetent; and his "the surge has failed" comment.  He is guilty of undermining the morale of our military and -- if President Bush and his Republican lemmings in Congress had a scintilla of common sense or leadership -- would earn him public ridicule and derision.

Second, while I resent Reid no end, his foolishness will not push me into the false dichotomy of praising Pace and Petraus as successful in their leadership of the military over the recent years.  In short, they have been willing partners in the Bush Administration's deliberately chosen policy to ignore the aid and comfort that Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia have provided the jihadists.  They can thus hardly be viewed as successes in this regard.  But Reid did not criticize these generals for their genuine failings.  Rather, Reid just struck out blindly at them, simply (by all appearances) to appease some nutty leftist bloggers.

However, I do salute General Pace for his (original) eloquent stand against homosexual behavior.  However, after the "conservative" Bush White House gave  him no support on this issue, Pace subsequently "politically corrected"  himself on this issue.

So, I guess that we can say that Pace was against  homosexuality before he was for it.
