a) Al Qaeda demands U.S. withdraw from Iraq

b) Democrats vote to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq

Lesson al Qaeda learns? a + b = terrorism works

This isn't rocket science. And, to be honest, I don't blame the Democrats. I blame you, the American people, for being weak and spineless in the face of our enemies.

Exactly as Ayman al Zawahiri predicted you would.

It's sad, really, that al Qaeda knows you better than you know yourselves.

Oh, yeah, keep telling yourself that there is no al Qaeda in Iraq. It will make you feel better and its cheaper than prozac. That way, when and if we do leave, the new Islamic State of Iraq won't exist.

But they will attribute it's existence to George Bush (for invading in the first place), and acknowledge no responsibility for the inevitable consequences of the premature departure they are currently demanding.

Witness the selective memory loss of the Democrats regarding their pre-war statements and votes. They have had great success with this tactic in the past, and there's no reason to believe it will not continue to work in the future.

I cannot blame politicians for this, because that is like blaming a slug for leaving a trail of slime. It cannot help itself.
I blame the American people for being selfish, complacent, irresolute and so easily misled.

but really could it be any other way? The country of diversity with the only thing that people have in common - diversity. Your buddist neighbour aims to rid himself of desires, muslim - convert you into islam, atheist - turn you narcissistic (you are whatever you make yourself, which for most people pretty ugly). Media tells you it's bad to have american identity ("boogie" man of the world).
The house (as in US) is... divided. Everyone has his own definition of the "right". What will make you united in this age of political correctness when it's "wrong" to tell the truth?

In any case, if our external enemies wants to play in our internal spat, they will end up with an even bigger ashcan of a nation then we will. Someone will get nuked.
