DDOS Against Blue Crab Boulevard
Blue Crab Boulevard has been under a sustained DDOS/Spam attack for over a week.

Things have been a little bit less than normal around the Crabitat for several days. Longtime readers will realize that. New visitors will not. By way of explaining what is happening here, this website has been under a pretty hefty attack since about the time voting started for the Weblog Awards. I have absolutely no idea if the timing is coincidental or not. But Blue Crab Boulevard has been knocked offline repeatedly by waves of spam attacks that are defeating every WordPress Plugin. The only reason this site is still on line is by sheer luck and a tech who saved it.I feel for them. We have been under a sustaiuned spam attack for about a year. We endure regular DDOS attcks. Hang in there. You get kind of used to it after a while. It makes me all that much more determined to blog. But then Howie doesn't have to pay for all the wasted bandwidth.

Oh, how little it takes to bring some sites down.
Last week the owner of Blue Crab Boulevard contacted me about the incoming masses of spam. I quickly determined that the level of incoming spam was in no way anywhere near enough to take a properly configured web server down.
So the problem appears to be with their host. Unfortunately, the host seems unwilling or unable to fix their problem.
I advised him to get a new web host where the technical people don't have their heads up their @$$es.

They must be afraid of the Jawa Report to spend that much energy trying to shut it down. Notice how lefty, liberals blogs never seem to have these attacks.
