1) Muslims threaten Europe with boycotts and violence and demand press regulations.
2) Europe begins the process of outlawing images deemed offensive to Muslims.
Lesson: If you want Europe to adopt sharia (Islamic) law, simply threaten then.
My guess is that next Muslims will demand an end to public displays of pornographic material, something common in Europe. Also expect a demand for the prohibition of Christian missionaries trying to convert Muslims in the near future, sex-segregates schools, and tax supported mosques.
In fact, European Muslims are already demanding all of the above. Given that native Europeans have a very low birthrate, Europe has high numbers of Muslim immigrants (legal and illegal), and that Muslim immigrants have a very high birth rate, it is only a matter of time before Europe once again becomes part of Dar al-Islam. But I had always supposed this would be a hundred years or more in the future. But if Europeans are willing to cave to the fascistic demands of a minority that is still rather small, it seems inevetable that as that minority becomes larger they will cave even faster.
Could Europe adopt Islamofascist sharia law long before Muslims become a majority on the Continent? It seems more likely every day.

Er, Duh! Like, I didn't see this coming! JC - the muslims may have been the match for this - but the fuse has always been there.
Rusty - I think I did point this out (difference between rights and state regulations) a day or so ago in another comment.
Everyone should be a little "Christian" and not completely blame the muslims for all this - the Euros will be Euros, and they are not like us.

That might be true. The Left tends to be censorious by nature, so it's a natural "progression" for the Europeans. They are merely enacting PC speech codes into law-- something the American Left would also love to do here in the States.

And I have the distinct impression that it will indeed come well before Muslims actually reach majority status in Europe, because they are already near a majority in the younger age groups, and revolution has always been a young man's game.

Saw an interview with the Danish newspaper editor who started all this - he said his purpose was not to mock islam, but to mock the concept of religion in general - in keeping with "enlightened" Danish and Euro modern tradition. (I am serious!)
He/they are the very same people who would put Piss Christ on the cover of a magazine - as a mocking joke and social commentary.
The artists covered the Danish political spectrum - from what passes as conservative in Denmark to the left.
This was done in Sept with no visible outrage. Later, a Danish iman took the 12 cartoons along with 3 additional very offensive ones (that he would say where they came from)to show around the ME.
The reaction today is staged - deliberately fanned by islamists as a pep rally.
the Danes and Euros didn't expect this - it caught them by surprise.
Screw them both! They deserve each other.
