From the Washington Post:
FORWARD OPERATING BASE SYKES, Iraq - For the U.S. troops fighting in Iraq, the war is alternately violent and hopeful, sometimes very hot and sometimes very cold. It is dusty and muddy, calm and chaotic, deafeningly loud and eerily quiet. If Democratic leaders needed any more reason to get their lawyers busy trashing military absentee ballots, there was this:The one thing the war is not, however, is finished, dozens of soldiers across the country said in interviews. And leaving Iraq now would have devastating consequences, they said.
With a potentially historic U.S. midterm election on Tuesday and the war in Iraq a major issue at the polls, many soldiers said the United States should not abandon its effort here. Such a move, enlisted soldiers and officers said, would set Iraq on a path to civil war, give new life to the insurgency and create the possibility of a failed state after nearly four years of fighting to implant democracy.
The soldiers declined to discuss the political jousting back home, but they expressed support for the Bush administration's approach to the war, which they described as sticking with a tumultuous situation to give Iraq a chance to stand on its own.Tomorrow, I'll be supporting the choice of the folks putting their lives on the line to protect us.

Incapable of Cut and Run when schooled in Slash and Burn, Troops ask: can we try Snip and Saunter?

being muzzled regards the press. Zogby's Poll of soldiers, however,
released in February, showed much more negative attitudes.

liberals citing Zogby's poll. I don't trust polls, I don't cite
polls and if I did, Zogby would be the last.

Thanks to the troops for bringing that scumbag saddam to justice.

None have ever said we need to pull out, just shift tactics.
I have a hard time trusting polls, especially after this one my 172 SBCT buddy said they gave him. Where it was reported in the news they said something like 90% of troops wanted to pull the military out of Iraq, but the closest question to pulling out was "Do you want to go home?" As my buddy put it, "Who the hell DOESN'T want to go home? [Some things about wanting to play videogames and watch porn that I won't repeat here]. We got a job to do first though."

No doubt the soldiers are lying and Zogby is accurate.
Here's a statistic for you. Zogby is a propaganda outfit that tailors its poll results to match a desired outcome 100% of the time. According to Zogby, the Democrats won the elections by large margins in 2000, 2002, and 2004.
The National Enquirer is more accurate.

restaurant guides. His research consisted of asking people where he
could get a bite to eat while he was pitching his flea-infested
carpets. He is an arab, and thus not one word he says can be trusted,
because to arabs, lying is second only to breathing.
A good arab/muslim/lefturd is a dead one.
