Thank You: Terror Websites Down

Thank you to the good folks at Bizland for taking down two websites belonging to the Islamic Army in Iraq.

And thank you Jawa readers for raising a stink about this. Sometimes it just takes a little noise to grab the attention of those in charge. Frankly, most customer service agents just aren't prepared to handle complaints about terrorist websites.

However, it would be nice if corporate America would do their jobs and police themselves rather than forcing us to do it for them.

1 This is really a good thing. I am really getting sick that they have this opportunity to freely distribute their filth across the Internet. The government should have a team for this with hackers that kill a site as soon as it pops up!

This site for example: www.terroristmedia.com. ( go to the forum section) Although not a pure Islamic website. Both sides discuss there (in it self a interesting concept) but they use it also to distribute the latest Islamic propaganda. And there are many websites similar out there! I think itâ€™s one of those boundaries; they do not spread hate but there is this stinky smell of support! Our side seems to do the same with our videoâ€™s to try to level it out (You can download â€œThe War Tapesâ€ from there). But nevertheless it makes me sick to see these compilations of how successful they are with IEDâ€™s and VBIEDâ€™s.

I would say bring it down.

3 These sites will find new hosts in Western Samoa or the Islamic Republic of Bumfuckistan. It's easier for our side's spies to watch them if they are hosted by friendlies, which is true of some of the most senior and most serious jihadist websites.

6 Good job guys, but didja ever stop to consider that maybe the government wants these sites left up so they can moniter the traffic to them? I'm not a net guru, but I'd say it wouldn't be hard for someone to hack a backdoor into their servers and copy all their info. But then, this is the government that gave us Amtrak, so it's most likely that they don't even know about the sites.

7 No, IM, the governments too wrapped up with wire-tapping our phone calls and email and making sure illegals get schooling and healthcare and don't have their rights violated. And making sure criminals get extradited to Mexico and other foreign countries.
