Foley Email Altered

Wild Bill at Passionate America has discovered that one of the alleged Foley emails circulating among the MSM and leftwing blogs has been forged.

The two conflicting Foley emails come from Stop Sex Predators and citizens for responsibility and ethics in Washington (this one has since been removed by CREW).

The two emails are here. Wild Bill marked the differences he saw with red arrows. I've noticed a couple more, and marked them in green text. Click to enlarge.

Foley's resignation seems to indicate that the emails, even if one is fake, are accurate.

But why did someone go to the trouble of creating a fake?

3 I don't understand. Is this the entire email? If not, where's the whole thing? People on CNN are saying the original email has him asking about a guy with a "good body" and another person I know thinks the email contains explicit language asking the kid if he had his underwear on, and if so to take it off. To me it sounds like she's confusing the emails with the Internet Messages, and the Dems are exploiting that sort of confusion. If so, the best way to stop the hemorrhage is to print the entire email, or alledged email.

9 What in the dickens has this got to do with the Democrats using the information for "political" purposes? It SHOULD be used for political purposes because it is now becoming known that House leaders KNEW about Foley and now all of them are throwing blame around to everyone else.

Before this is over, they will probably be blaming Clinton.

10 I find this a little puzzling that this information was known by someone over two years ago but they just happened to wait until just before the November elections to bring this out.
Also, how many people save their instant messages, I know I sure don't. My kids text message all the time, they NEVER save their messages.I realize that this Congressman has some very serious problems, and I sure would'nt want the baxxxrd hanging out with my teenage son
but it seems to me there is a lot more blame to go around here. I also think that these teenagers
thought Foley was a wacko and were encouraging him on purpose. Why, I don't know. But why did they save their instant messages?

12 According to Hastert, the only thing anyone had prior knowledge was the e-mail(s). According to him, he only learned last Friday about the Instant Messages, which were sexually graphic. At this point, it doesn't matter what the facts are because perception is reality and the Republicans have to give Hastert the boot. He has gotten to a point where he has unlived his usefullness and he is only doing damage to the party. If Trent Lott can be destroyed by his "outrageous comments" regarding Strom Thurmand, anybody is fare game.
