BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, BRUNEI: Brunei is trying to tap coal resources that have gone neglected for decades to help reduce its dependence on oil and gas, the government said.Heh.Brunei has widespread coal deposits of reasonable quality, but their potential has not been systematically explored using modern technology, said Zolkiflee Abdul Karim, acting director of the government's Petroleum Unit, in a government statement Wednesday (12 Sept).
The Energy Ministry is formally pursuing efforts to map out potential areas for commercial prospecting, the statement added.
