In a new "confession" broadcast on Iranian TV, marine Nathan Thomas Summers apologized for trspassing into Iranian waters, noting that it was the second time the British Navy has done so. That refers to the 2004 incident when Iran seized 8 British sailors and held them for 3 days before releasing them. Britain has denied Iran's claims in both cases.
A second letter from sailor Faye Turney was released, in which she calls on Parliament to withdraw British troops from Iraq:
Representative of the House of Commons.I am writing to inform you of my situation. I am a British Serviceperson currently being held in Iran.
I would like you to know of the treatment I have received whilst here.
The Iranian people are kind, considerate, warm, compassionate and very hospitable. They have brought me no harm, but have looked after me well. I have been fed, clothed and well cared for.
Unfortunately during the course of our mission we entered into Iranian waters. Even through our wrongdoing, they have still treated us well and humanely, which I am and always will be eternally grateful.
I ask the representatives of the House of Commons after the government had promised that this type of incident would not happen again why have they let this occur and why has the government not been questioned over this? Isn't it time for us to start withdrawing our forces from Iraq and let them determine their own future?

Prime Minister Tony Blair was said to be "livid" over the release of the second letter:
“It is cruel and callous to do this to somebody in this position and playing this kind of game — it is a disgrace,†said the Prime Minister’s spokesman.
UPDATE: A third letter has reportedly been written by Faye Turney to the British people, in which she claims too have been "sacrificed":
Captured sailor Faye Turney says she has been "sacrificed" to the policies of the British and U.S. governments in a third letter released by her Iranian captors today. The letter, addressed to the British people, also said that Turney had been treated well, unlike the prisoners held by the at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
"I'm writing to you as a British serviceperson who has been sent to Iraq, sacrificed due to the intervening policies of the Bush and Blair government," the letter said.

If that is the actual wording of the letter then she did not write it.

Representative of the House of Commons !!! Hilarious, just shows the complete lack of intelligence. Maybe they will issue another letter replacing "representative" with "Members", just like they replaced their first incorrect co-ordinates with one corresponding to Irans waters.
Dumb ass Muslimes the whole world is laughing at your childish stupidity. And you want to be a nuclear power - haha
Just remember one foot over the line and the west will slap you silly.

I don’t know how it is in the British military, but in the US we are told
to ONLY give our name, rank, and number. I can understand that they are under duress,
but honestly I do find it a bit odd that they would start making propaganda for
Iran…so
quickly. I say this with all respect, as I’ve served with some fine Brits in
the past and I have never been a POW (The idea of getting my head cut off on
video would kind of inspire me to fight to the death).
There is something I do find strange about the letter. The
English seems off. I’ve noticed this when I’ve watched propaganda videos made
by IAI, where they claim a that it is a soldier speaking or something, there
are always problems with the English.

Almost half of the British Royal Navy's 44 warships are to be mothballed as part of cost-cutting measures by the Ministry of Defense (MoD), London's Daily Telegraph reported on Friday.
The British government has said that 13 warships are in a state of "reduced readiness," putting them around 18 months away from active service, according to the report, which added that a further six destroyers and frigates were being proposed for cuts.
The report said a need to cut the defense budget by 250 million pounds (around 486 million U.S. dollars) this year to meet spending requirements had forced ministers to look at drastic measures.
Senior officials said the plan would turn Britain's Navy into nothing more than a coastal defense force.
"What this means is that we are now no better than a coastal defense force or a fleet of dug-out canoes." said a senior official.
MoD sources admitted it was possible that the Royal Navy would discontinue one of its major commitments around the world, the report said.
It is likely that the six destroyers and frigates to be mothballed will eventually be sold or scrapped. There are also fears that two new aircraft carriers promised in 1998 might never be built, the report added.
They're sending a show of force in the form of a tug boat with a forward mounted bazooka. The British Navy doesn't even have a super carrier anymore, even after the Argentinian Air-Force had their way with the British Navy because they sold their last super carrier two years before the War.
