TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he has pardoned the 15 British sailors and marines detained in the Gulf last month.Ahmadinejad also gave medals of honor to the Iranian coast guards who intercepted the 15 British sailors and marines in the Gulf, saying
Iran will never accept tresspassing of its territorial waters."On behalf of the great Iranian people, I want to thank the Iranian Coast Guard who courageously defended and captured those who violated their territorial waters, the president told a press conference.
More to come.
UPDATE:Ahmadinejehad says the pardon is "a gift to the British people":
"On the occasion of the birthday of the great prophet (Muhammad) ... and for the occasion of the passing of Christ, I say the Islamic Republic government and the Iranian people — with all powers and legal right to put the soldiers on trial — forgave those 15," Ahmadinejad said, referring to the Muslim prophet's birthday on March 30 and the Easter season.
The Iranian president said the sailors would be taken to the airport at the conclusion of his press conference; however other Iranian officials said they would be released to the British Embassy in Tehran. The Embassy has been the site of violent protests in the last few days, so we may not be out of the woods yet.
Ahmadinejehad criticized the deployment of British sailor Faye Turney, who is married and has a 3-year-old child:
"How can you justify seeing a mother away from her home, her children? Why don't they respect family values in the West?" he asked of the British government.

And paper tigers exposed. Every time we fail to obliterate these bastards you can be assured they'll be back worse than before.

Wheee I like giving gifts to especially when the giftee pays me for it with very very nice profit margin. Hmmm just yesterday Iranian agent was released this morning we get a "gift" in return then now noon time Iran is going to get to visit the IRGC Quds guys we yoked in Irbil. Wonder if this trade is COD or UPFRONT hmmm oh thats right the leadership is saying don't pay attention to the hundreds of "we will not back up, we will not give them back, they are killing US service men" all this is totally unrelated we just spontaneously changed our minds.
I guess we can now look forward to the glory days of Israel were every citizen, soldier, business man has a price on thier head of hundreds to thousands of captured Jihadi's (that payment is always increasing by the way ALWAYS).

This whole thing is a vile, disgusting circus show by Iran and it sickens me to think so many people around the world actually buy this steaming bullshit.

The Left never fails to side with our enemies. Never. Not once. What a deep scourge on our civilization they are. Rooster is right. The day when scores will have to be settled with them is coming. I don't see how Western civilization as we know it can survive otherwise.

I'm ashamed to have even a drop of English blood in me. The nation is more cowardly then the French at this point. I can't believe we wasted a single life to bail you out in the 20th century. You'd be better off speaking German. Fuck you England.

you shut up george, fact is you would hand over the world to these nazis but I don’t plan to, but then they would have to parade my dead body, instead of getting a film of me "live" to the world.
I can't believe that the brits did not put up a fight. hell what’s next? Maybe Tony will give another medal to the officers of the gunboat crews!

As the bard puts it:
"The quality of mercy is not constrained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from Heaven upon the place beneath.
It is an attribute to God himself.
It is twice blessed; blesses him who give and him that takes."
Yes, shaking hands with that subhuman piece of filth AhmadiNezhad is reprehensible; but let's be happy that these young people will be returning to their duties. And let us hope that their chain-of-command changes the rules of engagement to allow them to defend themselves in such situations. Also, perhaps the captain of the R.N. ship that they were attached to, could enlighten us as to why these brave souls had no helicopter support.

JC where the hell did you get the idea that this quote represented "the left" ? I will just making fun of the Irans failed attempts to provide correct co-ordinates the first & second time.
My guess is you just read my comment upto the point of "return the gift" at which point you lost it ???
Oh well at least you got George all excited !

I think one Islamic Republic agent who had vanished in Iraq a while back, suddenly made and appearance and was sent back to Iran; where the chimp AhmadiNezhad personally received him at the airport. The timing of the two events seems to me to be more than a mere coincidence.
