Breaking: Israel Gives Syria an Ultimatum

From Ynet:

The London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that “Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences.”

The report said “a senior Pentagon source warned that should the Arab world and international community fail in the efforts to convince Syria to pressure Hizbullah into releasing the soldiers and halt the current escalation Israel may attack targets in the country.”

Al-Hayat quoted the source as saying that “the US cannot rule out the possibility of an Israeli strike in Syria,” this despite the fact that the Bush administration has asked Israel to “refrain from any military activity that may result in civilian casualties.”

Syria will not restrain Hizbullah and may be unable to do so without Iran's agreement. Iran appears to be the major sponsor now.
If the report above is true, Israel will attack Syria for supporting the terrorist group.
Iran will be forced into the war in order to maintain its credibility in the region and to honor the mutual defense agreement it made with Syria in June.

The war will be much wider soon. The big question is: how much support will the US provide to Israel when it is facing the Palestinians, Hezbullah, Syria and Iran? Will we use this opportunity to strike at Iran's nuclear facilities?

1 This is getting good, and it's way overdue. I hope they crush our mutual enemies like the vermin they are.

2 Well, the Iranians have planes, and they could go through Turkey on their way to Syria. Israel believes that there are already about 100 Iranian soldiers 'advising' Hizbullah (but don't say that there is no connection between Hizbullah and Syria or Iran). The anti-ship missile that hit the Israeli warship came from Iran (again, I don't see the connection between Hizbullah and Iran - someone clarify /sarc).

Posted by: lawhawk at July 15, 2006 08:19 AM (an6Jb)

3 There's a clear relationship between Iran and Hezbollah. Iran orchestrated the capture of the two israeli soldiers to take the heat off themselves with their nuke activities. And now we have Iranian Guards launching missles on Israel from palestine. Both Iran and Hezbollah hate the jews more than life itself. The relationship couldn't be much more clear.

4 The Iranian Airforce is in dissarray, its planes nearly cadavers. My bet is that they didn't think Israel would respond this way, but now they got their war, they should be happy now.

Posted by: Jauhara at July 15, 2006 09:34 AM (Z8kfp)

5 I don't think Syria has much of an influence over Hezbollah than Iran. Jauhara, Iran's air force is currently going through a modernization. They might be going for the newest Chinese fighter, the J-10 or possibly the Russian Su-27. Plus they have developed their own trainer/light attack aircraft, the Shafaq.

Posted by: Some Dude at July 15, 2006 10:04 AM (llVQM)

6 Some Dude - you could give the Iranian Air Force the most modern aircraft in the world and it won't make a bit of difference. Their aviators SUCK! Always have - always will.

7 You know seems interesting after 911 the whole of the world was behind Mr. Bush and now there is great disdain the world over including 60% or less who are American. Go figure huh? But it's not HIS fault right?

8 Greg - prove it!

GoFigure - most pussies lack commitment.

9 To Greg: Israel never knowingly attacks civilians of any faith let alone their Christian allies. Israeli's would not even attack Muslims knowingly.

To Richard: As for the connection between Iran and Hizbullah, the later was conceived and instituted in the late 1970's by the Islamofascist animals who are currently ruling Iran. I know this because I was there and I saw it happen.
As soon as their so-called Islamic revolution succeeded in Iran in 1979 they set about creating branches of Hizbullah in other Shiite dominated areas of the region. However, in Lebanon they found so many recruits that Iranian Hizbullahi's (as we call them) became merely a side show to the Lebanese Hizbullah.

Incidentally, I am an eyewitness to Hizbullah's barbarity and criminality.

I hope to God that Israel extirpates every one of these filthy subhumans.

10 Nobody can dare attack Iran!!!!!!!!!
exclude Iran from your stupid conflict or war.
Hezbullah has done this stupid action by itself and should take responsibility itself.
We Ianian people are peaceful and condemn any terrorist act from anybody ,but will defend our country and nation very well.
please spare my people or my country from your stupid comments about Iran.

11 To Kamal:
You're NOT Iranian. I am.
Remember you filthy Arab; Iran does NOT belong to you.
Arabs or your filthy pseudo-religion.
Iran belongs to Aryaee people.
Go back to your desert Arab.
Go and take your Allah-u-Akbar with you; for horrid is your belief and brutish is your conduct.
If you really are Iranian figure this one out:
"Marg bar Eslaam o dar-o dasteh ash"
"Nang bar Mosalman"

12 Calling out Syria and Iran on Hezbolla.

I have seen enough transparency from the 3 parties for them to reveal themselves.

You boys went and held press conferences. Didn'tcha?
Gotta win popular support with your people now. Don'tcha?
Well gee-whiz, that ol' Al-Jazeera is really loved by your people ain't it?
They are maybe a bit to you, like Fox News is to me.

But they will roast you.
Remember Shep and crew calling out Dubya from the Big Easy after the disorganized response to Katrina?
The tough questions will come. From your own dear press.
Al-Jazeera is more in control of your "street" than the mullahs and big-men.

Now your dear press- Mr. Assad, and Mr. Afsanjani, And Mr. Hassan Nasrallah...
...watch Al-Jazeera "follow the money"
...listen to them ask you "Who knew what, and when?"
and then they will expose to the whole world, including your own people, your double-talk and lies about the organization that you fund and control, but claim no responsibility over.

We have drawn you out enough into the light.
You're now on our home court.
You have welcomed Al-Jazeera.
It will destroy you.

Ha Ha. Freedom Rules.
Now fear it.

13 Greg, you are the comment equivalent of Hezbollah, and I am Israel.

Keep up the barely disguised anti-semitism, and you may not like what comes from your keyboard.

14 Greg,

since by listening to the MSM one would think the word "muslim" had been stricken from the english language, I see no reason why they should begin identifying cities as "christian" just because of Israel. Or is religion only relevant when it regards the JooOOOOOoooOOOs?

No, you Leftards will be the death of us all.

16 There's a pretty good reason why Israel is our primary recipient of foreign aid. See Hesbollah. What you'll never hear from the likes of Greg though-- cause he'd choke on his tongue if he said it-- is that Egypt is our No. 2 recipient of foreign aid. You'll never hear that from a Lefty, I promise. Not to mention aid to Jordan and most of the Arab states.

18 Greg,

You're starting to convince me that the Islamists are in the right here.
To continue, please explain how the JOOOOoooooooOOOo's are to blame...

For the Islamist violence in the PHILIPPINES.
And For the Islamist violence in SUDAN.
And For the Islamist violence in NIGERIA.
And For the Islamist violence in KOSOVO.
And For the Islamist violence in RUSSIA/CHECHNYA.
And For the Islamist violence in KASHMIR/INDIA/PAKISTAN.
And For the Islamist violence in INDONESIA.

I. AM. WAITING.

19 I have researched the U.S.S. Liberty tragedy. The evidence points to a tragic mistake, not an attack. But I bet you believe in innocent until proven Jewish.

"You are not a Jew, what do you care about Israel?"

What an arrogant disgusting question. I am not you, what do I care about you? You are what is wrong with humanity.

Dear naive boy, I am not a Jew, but I am an Israelite.

Do you know the tribe of Judah is but one of the 12 Tribes of Israel?
Israel is more than just lines in the sand, it is a group of people. A vast group of people. Of many colors.

Israel.

Regathered.

Welcome to America.

25 All you people dont see the real story behind this.
The americans are using the jewish people to
there advantage.
Here is perfectly good example for trying to draw iran into the conflict.
terrosist mr . bush has always wanted to attack iran, but doing it the wrong way would only humiliate him and the rest of his allies.
wheres this way they could always say that iran has brought it on themselves.
The biggest issue here is if israel doesnt back off and shut up, the i will praise the iranians if they launched a nuclear missile on those jews.
I for one will enjoy the biggest humanitarian crisis that will occur in israel.
I also do believe that Hitler would be turning in his grave now.
I never really liked israel because they brought the war on themselves in world war 2.

29 John,

You shold be sorry for posting that even once.

Hard to agree with you about Israel bringing war upon itself in WW2; ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE WAS NO STATE OF ISRAEL UNTIL 1948.

Also, please expound upon your theory of how Mr. Bush used the Syrian and Iranian agents (Hezzballah) to start kidnapping Israeli citizens.

Thank you for posting your ignorant, racist lies on the internet for the whole world to see. It makes telling the bad guys A LOT easier.

30 As I ate some of my home grown grapes, I wondered if this war was going to get bigger. If the topic is true, I do not like it, but it may be time to clear out all the moon god worshippers that do not want to live in peace. Israel, 5 wars won, moon god worshippers 0, and it is about to be Israel 6.

Go Israel!

31 Wow! I am really disgusted by Garduneh Mehr's comment on July 15, at 11:34AM.
I'm not sure if Mehr was refering to Hezbollah as subhuman or Arabs--but as far as you people are concerned there's no difference so I can feel free to call Mehr an outrageous racist and white-supremacist. This is the EXACT kind of language that Nazi's used--they said that the Jews where subhuman. How do you dare to use that word? Have you no decency? And why did no one else call him on it? I'm going to go vomit now.

33 Just another dude! I just finished vomiting! The difference between the good guys and gals and the bad subhumans ( male and female ) is that the good guys try to aid people, not blow them up!
