B. Hussein Obama on Guns

Curious as to what life might be like under an Obama administration? Well, if you're a gun owner, you might like to know that Obama has endorsed a ban on the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic firearms. From Project Vote Smart:

Gun Issues

(Back to top) Indicate which principles you support (if any) concerning gun issues.

X a)
Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.

X b)
Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.

h/t : Volokh.

Some strategists consider Obama dangerous in the general election. Yes, he's smooth and charismatic. On the other hand, he's a left-winger, and his positions just aren't going to play well in the general. Mark my words, folks : nominee B. Hussein Obama would be a godsend to the Republicans--and I'm pretty sure the grown-ups in the Democrat Party know this. He may not be quite as magical, but Bill Richardson (who holds an "A" rating from the NRA) would be a whole lot easier sell on Main Street. Hillary, for all her high negatives, can at least SEE the middle of the road from where she's standing. Obama? Not so much. Whether the game's ultimately decided by the grown-ups or the nutroots remains to be seen.

1 At least he's smart enough to know he has to disarm us first, before he begins the takeover.

Ya have to give the little terrorist bastard credit.

2 I think a law should be passed that forces everyone to carry a gun. Do you think any guy would have the balls to rob a bank or car jack someone if he knew the victims were guaranteed to be packin heat?

3 I agree with Rome ... compulsory firearms training in pre-school and kindergarten,  with the actual issuing of weaponry by 1st grade.

In addition to their chosen fields of study, teachers would be required to be certified firarms instructors (exceptions could be made for gym teachers who are also Kung Fu masters.)

Finally, all members of the school board would have to show their NRA cards and "Charlton Heston is MY president" bumper stickers before acceptance.

4 Speaking as a foreigner, for what that's worth (probably nothing), it seems to me that the best chance the Democrats had for taking the White House was in 2004. And even then, a decorated combat veteran with pop-culture support and all sorts of other advantages managed to come out looking like a reactionary extreme left-winger who changed his mind around 5000 times a second. This time, the Donkey has got the burden of the Truther crowd on its back, amongst other crippling hindrances, and the three big hitter candidates are a woman, a trial lawyer and a black guy with an Arabic name. Not that any of those things should matter, but they evidently do, and will.
The GOP could put forth a banana peel and win. And yet it's got Guilliani, Thompson, McCain, Hagel et al. Seems like a foregone conclusion.
Jusy my $0.02, or should I say Â£0.0100911.

Personally, I thihnk what you said was an absolute pearl.

Especially this one:

"And even then, a decorated combat veteran with pop-culture support and
all sorts of other advantages managed to come out looking like a
reactionary extreme left-winger who changed his mind around 5000 times
a second."

Even though a good deal of the electorate that voted for him saw
this and knew this in the deepest recesses of their hearts, they still
hated Bush enough to try and put him in office.  That's not
politics.  That's a fricken death wish coupled with deep
seated-psychological problems.  Boy, did we ever dodge a bullet in
'04.

Obama is no better when it comes to partisanship.  He voted
against Alito and Roberts.  I can almost understand why today's
liberals might dislike Alito, but Roberts?  His vote and others
against Roberts was nothing but political pandering.  It had
nothing to do with principle.

How about enforcing a few of the laws we already have on gun
control?  Or am I being facetious and someone has already asked
that question?  Obama is just another of the "scary looking guns"
idiots.

Nice writeup and don't forget that Edwards the trial lawyer is also a first term senator who lost re-election. My guess is he's trying to get pegged as VP for Hillary! or Obama. I also think there are a great many "Democrats" who are bigoted enough not to vote for a female for President, regardless of who she is.

On the GOP side I think Guilliani or McCain both have a good chance at it.

7 I wonder if this  Obama  guy would be as willing to preach/impose the same restrictions to Palestinians (for instance)?

8 Obama just lost my vote. Jihad is going to be really complicated if we have to use muskets.

9 Hey #8,
Criminal terrorist scum such as your own worthless self will just get the arms illegally. With or without you Obama will never be the president of the U.S.

As for your Jihad here is the essential arithmetic you stupid arsehole: The U.S. population minus Mo-slimes is more than 295 million. You Mo-slimes globally number about 1.2 billion; so that if the U.S. servicemen kill you parasites even at the ratio of 5 to 1 you will loose.
And the beautiful truth is that the U.S. forces are killing at least 20 to 1 which more than makes up for the high birth rate of you subhuman savages
The only criticism I have for Americans is that they are too decent for their own good. Following 9/11 they should've just nuked the f**k out of your kind.

Let's say you defeat Israel, let's say you occupay Europe, let's say you occupy all of South America; even then just one U.S. Trident Class submarine is easily able to turn more than 90% of your vermin population into ashes is a matter of a few hours.

10 ... And the remaining 10% can be dealt with by conventional means.

11 The GOP could put forth a banana peel and win.

Not according to GOP cheerleader /Chief CIA-outer Robert Novak!

12 With or without you Obama will never be the president of the U.S.

Maybe, maybe not. Just recall that statement November 8, 2008.

13 Obama could possibly win a presidential election. But he'll never get past his party's primaries.  Giuliani can.  And Hilary can't win a presidential election.  So it's Giuliani in 2008.

14 Hillary, Obama, Silky Pony ---(frankly, I'm speechless, I can't give any of these serious consideration).  Richardson at least simulates sanity and as Governor he cut taxes.  The GOP is at the moment comatose.  They have nothing coming out of the House or Senate and their top two candidates also have big problems.  Guliani, Romney are serious guys and serious resumes. (McCain is not tempormentally suited to be President).

15 Do you expect anything less from a liberal left-wing demacrat especialy one supported by the liberal left-wing news media
