Employer laws are cheaper to build than a fence. We didn't seem to have much of a problem back when it was illegal to hire undocumented workers and the law was enforced...

How would employer laws prevent illegals from attacking border patrol agents? the illegals shown in the video are ignoring both. Just because a law is passed doesn't mean it will be obeyed, which is sorta the whole problem with the pro-amnesty argument.
And when, exactly, were the employer laws "enforced?" Why do they need an overhaul if they're working already?

I agree Good LT, I just don't see a fence doing much besides costing us more money - if they know they wont be able to find a job (because employers are too scared to get caught hiring them) then most wont bother. As I understand it this was mostly the scenario pre 1970. And it's not like there are NO jobs in Mexico, just not ones paying as much as in the US. I keep reading reports that Mexico actually needs immigrants to cover all the emigrants...

As a Texan who lives in a border county, you can imagine my felling's about where my Senators stand in all of this. Then again, perhaps not.
Just to be clear then, I believe that BP agents should be able to summarily drop any illegal who does not fully cooperate in their s#!+, no questions asked.
