Ariel Sharon's Birthday

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon turned 79 today.
In January of 2006, Sharon suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke, and has been comatose ever since.

Always a controversial figure, Sharon is nevertheless a prominent part of Israel's history, and he served his country as both a warrior and a statesman.
While his politics may be subject to disagreement, his heroism is well established.

Ariel Sharon may be gone from the headlines, but he is not forgotten.
His birthday should not pass without note.

1 I think the best thing Ariel Sharon did was give land back to the Palestinians before he died.

2 comotose = dead as far as i'm concerned

3 Let's also not forget that American Jewish voters overwhelmingly (87%) voted Democratic in our last Federal election.

5 Hey "John Ryan" Qolam-Ali Tazi
Don't worry your a little head about Israeli affairs; worry about your own paymasters in Tehran going out of business soon.... Followed by me pissing into that wishing well whence you expect your false Shiah deity to arise.

7 happy birthday you fat old brain dead fuck? you made shit worse and then died but not all at once, oh no.... it's just like your bullshit country in the way you don't deal with problems... a little bit at a time every fucking day. The same way this mid east shit just keeps on going.... a little bit at a time every freaking day. Chirp or get off the twig! Either nuke them or they are going to nuke you but stop pulling the rest of the world into your bullshit!  AMERICA FIRST!!!!!!

8 God bless a brave warrior and hero of his people.

And to hell with these human filth haters.  They deserved to be squashed like cockroaches under a bulldozer.

Posted by: Jesusland Carlos at February 27, 2007 09:18 PM (ETghS)

9 There! That's good! Squashed with a bulldozer.... that would be a cool video. But the thing is that you have to squash ALL the cockroaches, they just keep soming back and after a while, they won't be squashable anymore. That's my point. Deal with it or find another play ground. But if you keep doing the same thing, you keep getting the same results. Warriors don't die of old age when the enemy is still at the door. This guy should of dropped on them the day he had his finger on the button.

Posted by: wb at February 27, 2007 09:39 PM (kXveb)

10 Well, I agree with you on that.  But it's just not possible given that Israel only has to look at the Arabs funny and the international community comes to their rescue threatening trade embargoes and pariah status.  If America does fight Israel's wars (as you so hyperbolically claim), they only do it to the extend that they give Israel a little bit of breathing room to fight it's wars.  Beyond that, Israel can't even really use it's military to fight a war.  It's just allowed innefectual police actions.

Innefectual police actions are not fighting and winning a war. That's my point, either finish it or leave. America is not why Israel doesn't do what it needs to do. America is the only reason that they CAN do what they need to do. They need to get real and deal with it.

Thanks for your reply.

12 "Innefectual police actions are not fighting and winning a war"    Well the best time for them to do that was when Europe was not so against them, and the Arab League still fought using soviet doctrine, and mostly soviet equipment. Unfortunately, when they were successful for even a couple of days, the soviets started to talk WW3 and everyone would put pressure on Israel. It's hard to ignore the threats made by a nuclear power that is really nervous. Now the wars are different.          USA, all the way!

13 Absolutley,
And Patton could of gone on to stomp the shit out of Stalin and then we could of taken out Mao. That's what happens when you don't put an end to shit once and for all. Now we have a nuclear Iran backed by Russia to look forward to and Pakistan backed by China ..ummm just out of curiosity.. the people who gave the atomic bomb information to the soviets were ....muslims right?

Posted by: wb at February 27, 2007 11:40 PM (kXveb)

14 wb is right. The Israelis can never do right in the world's eyes, and will always be dragged down by the "international community."

Israel should destroy all of its islamopithecine tormenters. Right fucking now.

Not doing so hasn't worked out very well for them, has it? Things get geometrically worse each year.

The only good enemy is a dead enemy. I'm not kidding or offering hyperbole to slander "dem joos." I'm being honest.

I suggest the rest of you try it.

wb ... Patton could have .... if the support from home was there. Jeff is right about the 'dead enemy' being the only good ones, but you can't pick fights carelessly. if you've ever studied a martial art for self defence purposes, you probably got a good explanation about risk assesment.

You have to know your situation. You have to come to a realistic understanding of it. Like knowing why GW Bush screwed up by not sending more troops on day one. If he had a better understanding of the situation, I'm fairly confident we would have found those WMD. At the very least, the insugency would have been smothered to death in it's crib.

What is holding us up in Iraq, would hold up Israel the same way. Politics, and whining by leftists, combined with blunt brained suicidal jihadist denial of reality.

So while I agree with Jeff about enemies, and with you about the application of total war in acheiving definite results, The total political, and logistical reality requires a different approach at this time. At least for Israel.

We CAN do total war, for a few months, in at least one more front. That's not enough to eradicate the Islamist threat. We as a society aren't ready for total war. We lack the unified commitment of the generation that spawned Rosie the riviter. We need more catastrophy before our libs taste the salt, and start living in the real world again. And Israel needs us more than ever.

And I'm having to correct way to much of my own typing. God! Spelling is so hard! I'm done for now. Dyslexia wins for tonight.

Focus on winning in Iraq. Feed Israel. Start a neighborhood watch.

17 Professor Weaver,
Does one study a martial art or does one make it a part of who they are, there is a third option but that's another topic. What I do believe is that when you are right, you fight. Better to die with honor and doing the right thing than living under the boot of your enemy.
Ya know.... don't tread on me sort of thing? Yes I know , big talk. But not really, just a way of looking at things in a Gump sort of way.

18 Sharon was a true patriot to his country and I hope they are looking to put Netanyahu in to office soon because I believe he is the only one that will hold the their enemies feet to the fire.

19 I'm with you Rightmom.
Yes,
Netanyahu's brother led the commando team which effected the rescue at Entebe and was killed in the process. So Benjamin N. knows the enemy up close and personal!

20 Bibi Netanyahu is a hawk, but he also carries a lot of political baggage, including past corruption scandals.
Many Israelis are wary of him, even Likud members.

21 The fact is that American Yiddish journalists and Publishers are active
advocates of repression. There is a long tradition there. They play Israel's
song of the day like fiddlers on the roof. This is not a tradition that they can
easily walk away from. Every day of the week, every week of the year, they have
to run cover for war criminals like Ariel Sharon. It is part of their mission
statement to fully comply with the foreign policy of the State of Israel.
Otherwise, they have serious problems.

Right now, the government of Israel seems at times like an application list
for a rogues' gallery.
The prime minister is under investigation for allegedly helping friends in a
bank deal; members of his inner office have been arrested in an ugly tax
scandal; the president is being investigated on sex-abuse charges, the former
justice minister for sexual harassment, and the finance minister for
embezzlement; and charges may soon be brought against the defense minister - and
head of the Labor Party - for illegal vote-getting. And the list goes on. In
addition, two key members of the out-of-power Likud Party also are under
investigation.

The last few comments seem to have slipped in after all the smart commenters had moved on.  Well it's fine to take a few snippets of Sharon's words (verify the source) and string them out as if there is some giant conspiracy for Jews to control America. That doesn't make the snippets into reality.

It's fine to talk about war criminals when the palestinians take thier little babies and raise them to believe Jews are inhuman beasts (apes and pigs), as long as everyone realizes that brainwashing children to hate, is the same as destroying them. IE Palestinians destroy thier own children.

It's fine to talk about how israel is lead by rouges, as long as you make note that the word 'shahid' or shaheed' is being drummed into the minds of little palestinian children as being something they should aspire to become. What is 'shaheed'?  Well it's nothing less than becomeing a suicidal martyr, bent on murdering as many Jews as possible in a final blaze of glory. Basically, the Palestinians are raisng children, who have as their highest ideal, the act of killing thmeslelves and taking as many Jews as possible, with them!

It's fine for the anti-Israel crowd to send thier little weasels into cyberspace in an attempt to smear the Jewish leaders, as long as people are aware that horrors palestinians inflict upon the souls of thier own children outstrip anything that could be honestly said about Israel.

What the Palestinians have done is worse than genocide. They have murdered thier own children, and in so doing, have murdered all who die at the hands of those children. A sick, vile, and disgusting deed, for which there cannot be any earthly justice. All any earthly power can do is brace themselves, and try to prevent as much harm from this as possible.

the rapist president is somebody's stooge, and it shows. Next time you see pictures of little kids being trained to kill by Hamas, you think about who the real war criminals are. Next time a twelve year old girl blows her self up in the market place in the name of Allah, you think about who is for peace, and who is not.

You think about it.

24 It's a fucked up world sometimes isn't it Professor?
That's why I say Israel has to put it to rest once and for all, or leave. Good post though. Thoughtful as always.
