Are 'Carbon Offsets' the New Snakeoil?

Actually, no. Snakeoil is more tangible.

From Financial Times:

Companies and individuals rushing to go green have been spending millions on “carbon credit” projects that yield few if any environmental benefits.

A Financial Times investigation has uncovered widespread failings in the new markets for greenhouse gases, suggesting some organisations are paying for emissions reductions that do not take place.

Rubes.

UPDATE by Rusty: Jawa Report now 'carbon neutral'....just like WaTimes!

2 Hmmm. I've got any idea. Combine carbon offsets with a traditional ponzi pyramid scheme.  That way, you can take the carbon offset scam straight to the ground level moonbats.

I'll be rich I tell you!
