Angela McGlowan on Bamboozled

Angela McGlowan speaks:

Republicans have done the heavy lifting, not only from the Emancipation Proclamation, but Republicans started the movement for women's suffrage. Also, Republicans helped create the NAACP. Republicans helped create some of the first historical black colleges. ...After reconstruction, you had black senators and black congressional leaders that were Republican...

1  And I agree with her nearly One-hundred percent.I think Republicans started losing the black vote earlier, however, when Republicans failed to destroy such groups as the KKK in the South after Reconstruction.
By Selma, most Blacks believed the Republicans had freed, then forgotten, them to their fate.

2 RITA,

By Selma, most Blacks had been bought off by welfare checks and cheap dope provided by the Dummycrats. Its hard to get a dope fiend to go to work when he can get drunk or high for the rest of his life just by getting some girl to pop out a few kids and collect welfare checks.

3 Rita: You're lost. Fifty years ago in the south whenever white people saw a group of blacks they would say look at all those republicans. Ever heard of the "solid south". Solid because from reconstruction until not but a few years ago the white voters in the south were solidly democratic.

4 I shuld say democrats not democratic. Big difference.

5 Now that the democrats are pro-entitlement, pro-welfare, pro-illegitimate children, pro affirmative action, pro busing, naturally the blacks have embraced the democrat party.

6  Remember the question "who lost China?"..it was a political question the Dems were asking themselves after WWII.I honestly think we need to find out how WE lost (and can retrieve) the black vote.As they grow increasingly prosperous, they will find the high taxes and cradle to grave welfare system as odious as anyone.
As far as the solid south goes, you may be right, I've only been on this planet since '69, and only lived in the south since '88.
