UPDATE 6/12/2007 12:24 p.m: All websites down! We are grateful to all those who wrote the webhosts and pressured them into taking down the websites.
If you would like to e-mail or call the Taliban, their e-mails are still at the end of this post.
--------------------
A Georgia based company continues to host two official websites for the Taliban after being warned numerous times that providing business services to the Islamist group is against U.S. law. The 'Voice of Jihad' websites are in Arabic and in English. They claim to be the official websites of the 'Imarat Islami of Afghanistan' (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan) -- the name given to Afghanistan under the Taliban regime.
The websites feature announcements and "news" by Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf (aka, 'Ahmedi'), usually on the latest 'victory' of the mujahidin over the 'crusaders' (NATO forces) and 'apostates' (Afghan soldiers and civilians). Images of burning vehicles and of Taliban suicide bombers reading their shahid messages are also a regular feature on the websites. Below is an example of an animated image found at the English language website.
The Taliban websites are hosted by Freewebtown, a free webhosting service headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. A whois search lists the registered owner of Freewebtown as Tulip Systems, located on Piedmont Rd.
By providing free webhosting to the Taliban, Tulip Systems is in violation of U.S. law. American companies are forbidden from doing business with the Taliban, a regime responsible for aiding al Qaeda in the 9/11 attacks which killed nearly 3,000 civilians.
Thousands of U.S. servicemen and women are presently in Afghanistan fighting and dying in an effort to stamp out a resurgent Taliban.
Freewebtown did not respond to e-mails warning them that they were doing business with the Taliban in violation of U.S. law.
Webhosts are often unaware of the content of webpages hosted on their servers. Terrorist propagandists use this to their advantage. Such free webhosting is used to spread their propaganda, raise money, and recruit new blood for terrorism.
Most companies suspend the accounts of terrorists when brought to their attention. Good business practices dictate that no company ought to help facilitate terrorism, and most firms are more than willing to take down websites which help the jihadi cause.
Several weeks ago I posted a few e-mails and a phone number to Taliban spokesmen. I got those e-mails from the two Taliban websites linked above. I did not, however, link those websites. Instead, I wanted to give Freewebtown a chance to take down the websites on their own. They have not.
If you would like to let Freewebtown and Tulip Systems know what you think of American companies which are aiding and abetting the Taliban in their war against the U.S, you can contact them here or by e-mailing here.
If you would like to e-mail the Taliban, you know, just to mess with them:
alemarah1@yahoo.com
zabihullahmujahid@yahoo.com
alfarhad2005@yahoo.com
gran@inbox.com
If you want to call the Taliban on their spokesman's satelite phone:
(011 from US, then) 8821621515539 --- ask for Ahmadi, which is what Qari Mohammad Yousuf's friends call him.
(011 from US, then) 8821621360585 --- calls himself "mujahid", so I'd just ask for soon-to-be-dead asshole
It's like messin' with Bigfoot, only funner!

The web hosting company was complying with a DHS request to log all of the traffic coming to the web server.
However due to the pressure put on the web hosting company by being flooded in their forum with complaints
from well meaning citizens DHS ended up terminating the monitoring, and now it's back up -- most likely in a place that does not comply with warrants.
It might just be better to send a single Email to the DHS, with a C.C to the company doing the web hosting.

Their policy is strong on 1st-ammendment protection... they don't have to like you to host you.
They even host one pro-Nazi ideology site.
I don't believe, however, they hosts any site in violation of any (constitutional) law.
To repeat myself, do they in fact host Taliban websites?

Piedmont Center is a fairly upscale office complex and is not inexpensive. It houses several telecom/Internet type businesses due to extensive fiber optic cables transiting under Piedmont Road out in front of the complex.

Anyway, at least we are winning the war in Afghanistan. We sent Dadullah to HELL. That's more than what we can say about Iraq.
Anyway, you may now proceed with calling me a leftturd and other childish remarks.
