No one should ever legitimize a word that comes out of Al Sharpton's mouth. He is a loud mouth, crass idiot who likes to stir up racial tensions becuase he gets off on it. I am a white man married to a black woman and she and I see eye to eye about Mr. Sharpton. We know that he is a race baiting sack of pig dung who doesn't deserve 15 minutes of fame let alone 15 plus years of it. Why anyone would legitimize this windbag racist is beyond me. My wife is right about Sharpton, you can take the man out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the man. How do you get rid of Al Sharpton? Don't give him any face time. Shut down his access to mainstream media. Publish a few books ala Doriangrey's comments above that show what a race baiter he is. People that are all too willing to pull the race card out when it is convenient for them to do so are really only one thing... pathetic morons who are unable to lift themselves up by their own boot straps and simply make excuses for their own inadequacies by blaming others for their problems.
